The hit show has even grabbed some of our favorite musicians as mentors for the contestants. One of the newest faces is Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. He’ll be teaming up with Cee-Lo’s crew for the third season.

The two superstars actually have been acquaintances for years since working together on Santana’s hit record “Supernatural.” So we asked Rob himself, are the two destined for a future collaboration?

“There was a song that I wrote for Cee-Lo and it turns out it never got to him, he had never heard it. Then when he finally did, he fell in love with it. So, we had talked about if I ever do something solo, maybe doing that song with him coming on and singing it with me,” Rob tells us.

Sounds like it’s an unlikely pairing for now, but hey, The Voice fans can dream, right?
