Kathy Griffin’s “I’ll Say It” got us thinking about other famous reality TV faces who experimented in front of the mic.  And with the VMAs approaching fast, there’s no better time to reminisce about some of Hollywood’s most remembered recording studio disasters!

From “The Hills” reality star Heidi Montag to Kim Kardashian, the web is bursting with reality TV celebs who took their overnight celebrity status to the next level. Were these lovely ladies born to be singing superstars? Or is smiling pretty for the camera their only talent?

5. Heidi Montag tried her luck in the recording studio back in 2007 when she recorded her self-titled album Superficial. Montag performed the single “Body Language” live at the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant.


4. Kim Kardashian from E!’s fabulous Kardashian family stole the spotlight yet again and added singing sensation to her already lengthy resume. The reality star debuted her hit single “Jam (Turn It Up)” in 2011 at TAO night club in Las Vegas.

Neither can we! “Real Housewives of Orange County” reality star Gretchen Rossi stole the number one spot on our list with her 2012 single “Unbreakable”. Following the single’s world premiere, Rossi told us the song was about boyfriend Slade’s 12-year-old son Grayson, who has been battling brain cancer since he was only 6.

2. The blonde bombshell Paris Hilton  went from getting down and dirty on “The Simple Life” to seductive and sultry in her music video for “Stars Are Blind” off the debut album Paris.
