Did Simon Cowell Say That Khloé Kardashian Will Be The Host of ‘X Factor’? [AUDIO]
We know him as the hard-to-crack judge from American Idol, but Simon Cowell says he wants to be known as someone who “changes the way” shows are made. So what exactly is he changing? Why exactly did Demi Lovato spit into his hand? Simon called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest to talk about Demi, The Voice controversy, and who will be X Factor host.
Has Simon found a host for his show? Simon confirms that he has indeed found someone that he wants as the host. He says its “up to the network now.” And actually, he said he’s found two hosts he hopes will do the job. Simon tells our On Air host, “You may know one of them pretty well Ryan.” Our radio staff guessed Khloé Kardashian Odom, but could it actually be the famous Kardashian herself? “We’ll see,” Simon says.
And what about this beef with NBC? It’s been rumored that NBC is pitting The Voice up against X Factor. Simon has been vocal about his issues with the network explaining that NBC is playing “dirty tricks” and that they don’t want people to see this [X Factor] show. “I think it’s appalling.”
Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are the two new judges joining Simon’s table for this season of X Factor, and Simon talked up the blend of the new additions to the group. “They [the judges] are really good,” Simon says. “You’re going to see a different side of Britney, I didn’t know much about her before we did the show but she’s really good and she’s mean! She says no to everyone. She’s quite hard to please.” But was Britney about to leave The X Factor in the very first day? “She kind of freaked out, like all of these girls do the first day,” Simon said. “She got nervous, but I spoke to her and she was fine.”
So why is Demi spitting at Simon? Apparently the judges are playing tricks on each other. Simon described the mint trick saying, “You know the mint trick, when you know someone’s gonna talk, you offer them mints like you’re being nice to them.” Demi however wasn’t down for Simon’s game, and showed him who’s boss by spitting them all back into Simon’s hand. And speaking of Demi, what does Simon have to say about the former Disney princess dating Niall Horan? “I may have to stop this,” he said playfully.
Ryan and Simon have been tweeting back and forth, and Simon talked about finally reaching the Twitter sphere. He says it took an alcohol induced plane ride for that to happen. “Well I got drunk,” Simon says, and on the plane over from London to Los Angeles, he learned how to tweet.
Simon adds that he wants to be remembered for “changing the way we make these shows. I think you’re going to enjoy it,” says Simon. “It’s different.”
