Carly Rae, Adam Lambert, and Kid Rock Show Support For Bullied Teen Whitney Kropp! [AUDIO]
When Whitney Kropp was entered into her homecoming court as a joke at her school in Michigan, she was immediately devestated and wanted to withdrawal from the race. However, through courage and support from friends and family, Whitney went through with the dance and ceremony, and has come out on the other side stronger and more confident than ever before. Not to mention, her favorite musicians came out in support of her!
Whitney’s dance was last Saturday, and she said that “she had a fun time.” She even told Ryan that she was “proud of her decision to go [to the dance].” And according to Whitney, other’s were jealous of her hummer limo!
Carly Rae, who admits that she didn’t even know what “Homecoming” was, tells Whitney that she should be proud of herself, and “Congratulations on being gorgeous,” after seeing Whitney’s pictures from the dance. With Whitney on the line, Ryan also got one of Whitney’s favorite artists Adam Lambert on the line. After a disbelieving Whitney finally realized it was Adam, she told him, “Oh my gosh, you don’t know how much I love your work. It’s so inspirational to me! And your eyes are so pretty!”
Adam told Whitney, “The way you handled yourself is unbelievable you sound so strong and you really turned this thing around, and you showed them that the jokes on them and that’s perfect. You just have to kind of pick up the pieces and say, well, I know who I am, and I know what I’m about and I’m not going to let it slow me down. You sound like you really learned a lot, and you taugh a lot of other people a lesson. You should be proud of yourself.” Adam’s advice comes from his own personal struggle with bullying. “Getting to hear about someone who’s gotten some sort of strength from my story and my music, that’s what it’s all about. That makes it worth while. I got my struggles too!” Whitney told Adam that this situation has definitely “made her feel stronger.”
In a double-whamy-surprise, Kid Rock, who shares his home state of Michigan with Whitney, called into On Air to tell Whitney that he’s happy that “she is teaching others a lesson.” Kid Rock stated, “Whoever these kids are that did this terrible thing, you’ve held yourself high and put yourself in the regard that I’m going to do what I gotta do and stay strong. Let these other kids learn from you and move on. As much as it will be hard for you to get through it, it’s great for everyone to learn a lesson at the end of the day.” Kid Rock told the surprised Whitney, “You’ve handled yourself the right way and shined like a diamond at the end of this whole thing which is beautiful and inspiring.”
