Sexy Swimmers and Awesome Actors! Male Breakout Stars of 2012!
This year, we were all about the smartest, sexiest and funniest male breakout stars of 2012!
Sure, some of our top picks may not be totally new to the entertainment biz, but we couldn’t help but applaud them for having a top-notch year. From scoring the lead roles, to breaking out as the quick-witted sidekick, to winning gold medals in the Olympics, here are our top choices for the best male breakout stars of 2012!
Their beautiful faces lit up the TV and silver screens, but we decided that what better way to introduce them than by finding their craziest and silliest moments instead!
1. Tom Daley
Our hats are off to this 18 year old English diver who splashed onto the scenes at the summer Olympics. Not only did the hunk take home a bronze medal, but he also gave hope to women everywhere by proving that there is, in fact, at least one person we wouldn’t mind seeing in a Speedo!
2. Ryan Lochte
Over on the American side, Ryan Lochte didn’t disappoint by bringing home a whopping 5 medals, including the gold for the 400 meter medley. It was a fierce competition between fellow teammate and regining champion, Michael Phelps. Still, we couldn’t take our eyes off of that head-to-head of hotties.
3. Dave Franco
Does that smile and that face look familiar? That’s because this 27 year old is the younger brother of actor James Franco! Dave has had a string of small roles, but he made us roll on the floor as the hilarious, hipster drug dealer in this year’s comedy “21 Jump Street.” We guess talent, brains and wit are in the genes for those fantastic Francos!
This bad boy aussie worked double duty this year as a superhero extraordinaire in both “Thor” and “The Avengers.” He (and his brother) prove that we can’t resist a man with an accent. But hang out ladies, Chris is happily married with a beautiful baby girl. Superhero, indeed!
5. Josh Peck
You may recognize this face from the Nickelodeon hits “The Amanda Show” and “Drake and Josh.” Well, this child star is all grown up and came back to the silver screen with the movie “Red Dawn.” We couldn’t help but smile and reminisce as our favorite jokester turned serious in this futuristic, wartime flick.
