Grammys’ Neil Portnow Explains Why Justin Bieber Wasn’t Nominated

Neil Portnow, President of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, revealed to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” why Justin Bieber wasn’t  nominated for a GRAMMY award.

Neil explained: “The evaluation is intended to not really be about sales or marketing or popularity, it’s about excellence and how our voting members feel about recordings in any given year.”

Neil went on to say he doesn’t doubt Justin will get a nomination in the future of his career as he’s only 18-years-old and has already seen the success he has and is no doubt extremely talented.
