‘Scandal’s’ Tony Goldwyn Says White House Correspondents’ Dinner Was Surreal

Tony Goldwyn was one of the lucky  actors selected to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last weekend, and with his current role as President Fitz on ABC’s hit show Scandal, we had to ask—what was it like being around the actual president and fellow politicians? And did he let Fitz out at all?!

Tony revealed to On Air with Ryan Seacrest: “It was surreal. You know having been playing the president and living in an alternate universe where I’m the leader of the free world and then entering the real one was crazy. And then, apparently everyone in the White House is obsessed with Scandal.”

Unfortunately Goldwyn didn’t get to formally meet Obama, but he also shared he’s made it his mission for next year’s dinner.

Tune in to Scandal on ABC Thursday at 10/9c to catch all new episode “A Woman Scorned” which Tony also directed!
