Kelly Rowland Admits to Being Jealous of Beyonce in ‘Dirty Laundry’
Kelly Rowland is only human.
In her new song, “Dirty Laundry,” which she posted on her SoundCloud page, Kelly sings about her “sister,” Beyonce. “Bird in a cafe/You’d never know what I was dealing with/Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/Bittersweet, she was up, I was down/No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?”
In another lyric in the song, Kelly even hints that she was also in an abusive relationship during this time.
“I was battered/He hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered/He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me/Not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not Bey.”
Whatever issues Kelly and Beyonce may have had then seem to have disappeared now. In fact, Kelly and fellow Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams were onstage with Bey during her halftime performance at the Super Bowl in February.
“Dirty Laundry” appears on Kelly’s upcoming album, Talk a Good Game, which will be released June 18.
