Charli XCX, the 20-year-old British singer who wrote and is featured on Icona Pop‘s hit “I Love It,” performed her heartfelt cover for the first time in a music store in Chicago this week.

“I hope you like it, ’cause I love it. I’m like obsessed with this now,” the young goth-pop singer explains. “I hope you recognize it,” she adds before the synth plays a few chords as she begins the ultra-recognizable verse in a haunting rendition of the pop song.
