‘Girl Meets World’ Gets Green Light From Disney Channel
Girl Meets World is officially happening!
After news last year broke that the popular ’90s show Boy Meets World was creating a spin-off series fans of the show have been anxiously awaiting to hear the official word.
Dinsey Channel has announced that it’s picked up the series, which will follow original cast members, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, as the onscreen sweethearts Cory and Topanga and their pre-teen daughter, Riley (played by Rowan Blanchard).
Returning cast member William Daniels will also be back as the lovable teacher Mr. Feeny and Riley’s best friend will be played by Sabrina Carpenter.
“Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular,” executive producer Michael Jacobs said in a statement.
Fans will have to wait, as the series is now being filmed in Los Angeles and won’t premiere until 2014.
