Jay-Z Announces New Album in Samsung Commercial

Hip-hop legend Jay-Z announced in a Samsung commercial that premiered June 16 during Game 5 of the NBA Finals that he will be releasing his next album July 4.

Magna Carta Holy Grail will come exclusively to the first one million Samsung Galaxy III, Galaxy S 4, and Galaxy Note II users who download the Magna Carta app on their phone.

Fans who download the app will not only get to share the new album with other Samsung users, but they will also get to take an inside look at personal stories and inspiration for the album.

For everyone else who doesn’t have Samsung, they will have to wait three days later for the public sales release.

In the commerical that announced Jay’s new album, we also got an exclusive look inside the hip-hop legend and his friends, Timbaland, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Rubin, creating what should be his best music to date.

And Jay doesn’t want to just make music, he wants to make history. “We don’t have any rules. Everyone’s trying to figure it out,” Jay says in the studio as instruments play in the background. “We need to make the new rules.”
