Watch: Karmin’s First Official Acoustic Performance of ‘Acapella’

Karmin‘s “Acapella” is so much fun either with backing music … or even just acoustically.

The duo, Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, give their song (which will be digitally released on iTunes and everywhere else on July 9) the stripped-down treatment in a brand new video, which was all done in one take and completely live.

When Karmin performed the song at the Pick Your Purse Party, which was hosted by On Air with Ryan Seacrest‘s Ellen K. and Brad Goreski last month, Amy explained that she and Nick were inspired to write “Acapella” after watching Pitch Perfect and seeing Anna Kendrick‘s character play the cups.

“We thought there is not a song on pop radio called ‘Acapella.’ We were like, ‘How can we spin it?’ It’s sort of an independence anthem, like, If you can DIY, you can do it DIA … you can do it A cappella.”
