The Latin music star was not only chosen for this performance at the 2011 NBA Finals, but also as to sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” for the first baseball game at Shea Stadium in Queens, New York after 9/11.

9) Carrie Underwood
The first of three country artists on this list, Carrie sure knows how to belt America’s sacred song. She has also had the honor of performing the tune at the 2010 Super Bowl.

8) Kelly Clarkson
Back-to-back American Idol winners on our list, Kelly became known as a strong anthem singer after her Thanksgiving day performance at a Dallas Cowboys game in 2006. But this performance at the Super Bowl in 2012 with a children’s choir is truly amazing.

7) Jim Cornelison
If you are not from Chicago, you may have never heard of Jim. But if you have ever been to a Chicago Blackhawks game, you’ve recognized his incredible tenor voice. This performance at Soldier Field was during the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and was shown at all football stadiums nationwide.

6) Jennifer Hudson
An unbelievable story and an unbelievable performer, Jennifer stole the show at the 2009 Super Bowl with this memorable performance just a few months after the tragic death or her mother, brother, and nephew in 2008. She also performed a moving rendition of “America, the Beautiful” with the children of Sandy Hook Elementary at this year’s Super Bowl.

5) Lady Antebellum
Another performance from the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, but this rendition was at MetLife Stadium in New York. Most traditionalists believe that this is the best performance of all time. There is no glitz and glam, just a group of beautiful voices that sing the anthem straightforward, making for a pretty incredible version at the 2005 Super Bowl.

Jay-Z’s wife may be the best living National Anthem singer. From the performance at the 2004 Super Bowl below, to President Obama’s 2013 inauguration and this year’s Super Bowl Press Conference, the queen B is remarkable at whatever she does.
