Petition Calls for Miley’s ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ to Replace Anthem

Miley Cyrus is certainly a national treasure, but should her song “Party in the U.S.A.” really replace the “Star-Spangled Banner“?

That’s what a group of her fans believe and they’ve launched a petition asking for President Barack Obama to make the change.

“Obama please make Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” our national anthem. It is what is best for this country,” reads the statement on The White House’s We The People petition website.

So far, the group isn’t having much success since their July 2 launch. As of the time this article was written, only 360 people have actually signed their petition (they need 100,000 signatures for the White House staff to actually review it).
