Listen: Avril Lavigne Upholds Rebel Status in New Single ‘Rock N Roll’
Avril Lavigne continues her reign of refusing to be an adult — through her lyrics.
The “Here’s to Never Growing Up” singer came out with yet another track, called “Rock N Roll.” Sounding a little like her legendary hit “Sk8er Boi,” this second single from her upcoming album is bound to be a hit.
The chorus goes: “When it’s you and me, we don’t need no one to tell us who to be / we keep turning up the radio / When it’s you and I, just put up our middle finger to the sky / Let ‘em know that we’re still rock n roll.”
Along with the catchy chorus, the song features a fun stomp-clap series, and the signature “Hey!’s” that the 28-year-old punk-rocker typically includes in her songs.
Is the song about her recent marriage to Nickleback’s frontman Chad Kroeger? Listen to the tune about and decide for yourself!
