‘A Lot of Protocol Was Broken’ With Royal Baby Announcement


E!’s Ken Baker phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to share more details about the birth of the royal baby.

on Monday, Kate Middleton gave birth to an 8-pound, 6-ounce baby boy after 14 hours of labor in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, England, with her husband Prince William by her side.

“It was quite a spectacle,” Ken shares. “There was a lot of protocol that was broken.”

“The Palace issued a public statement before the official proclamation was actually put on the easel outside Buckingham Palace. This has never been done before.”

In fact, Ken adds, “They actually tweeted it out from the official palace’s Twitter before they even put it on the easel.”
