Throwback TV: Why You Should Go Back & Watch ‘Saved by the Bell’
It’s been 20 years since we last followed the lives of six friends during their four years at Bayside High School.
After Saved by the Bell‘s four-year run on NBC from 1989 to 1993, fans of the hit sitcom have been left with the life lessons that Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, A.C. Slater, Screech Powers, Jessie Spano, Lisa Turtle, and their principal, Mr. Richard Belding, taught us.
From falling in love to dealing with real-life issues, the gang of Bayside High has impacted our lives in more ways than one. Thanks to the early ’90s TV series, it became a precursor to shows, like Beverly Hills, 90210, and Dawson’s Creek, which introduced teens to more serious social problems.
Although two spin-off series were aired after the show’s final episode (Saved by the Bell: The College years from 1993-1994 and Saved by the Bell: The New Class from 1993-2000), there’s nothing like the original.
Take a trip down memory lane, and check out the six most valuable lessons Saved by the Bell has taught us!
6. Know when to let go
Some things are just not meant to be. Unfortunately, Screech had to learn this lesson the hard way with Lisa.
5. Some fashion pieces never die
Crop tops and high-waisted jeans have made a comeback! So thank you, Kelly, for paving the way for this fashion trend!
4. The better dancer always wins
Like Mario Lopez a.k.a. A.C. Slater showed us, you can own the room if you have sick dance moves.
3. Say “No” to drugs
There are other ways to cope with stress. Resorting to drugs is not only bad for your health, but also it could lead to emotional breakdowns like the one Jessie had below.
2. True love lasts a lifetime
Although it took countless breakups, Zack and Kelly tied the knot in Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas. While the one you’re with may not be your high school sweetheart like these two were, hold on to the one you love!
1. Waking up in the morning may be a struggle, but we’ll always be saved by the bell
