The Wanted Confirm Justin Bieber Helped Write for Upcoming Album
The Wanted stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Monday after releasing their latest single “We Own the Night” (listen to it HERE) to chat about everything from the new jam to whether or not Justin Bieber will be on their upcoming album, Word of Mouth.
The entire gang — Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Jay McGuiness, and Siva Kaneswaran — made it into the studio despite celebrating Tom’s birthday just yesterday. The boys rang in his 25th by going out, of course, and “we played golf, which was fun [for my] first time ever.”
Nathan, who had to undergo throat surgery, revealed that he’s all healed now. “Yeah, I’m pretty healthy … I got the ‘All clear.’ I now have perfect vocal chords.”
And those perfect vocal chords are for all to hear on the band’s latest single, “We Own the Night,” which they “love.” “It’s like the sound people expect from The Wanted. It makes people go out there and party.”
The guys love it so much, in fact, that Max tweeted: “#WeOwnTheNight I think, is my favourite song we’ve ever done!:)))” Why is that? “It makes me feel good when I hear it,” he says. “And when we shot the video, everyone involved — all the extras and the cast — were all singing along instantly.”
As for what we can expect from the band’s upcoming album, they revealed it’s “taken two years to [make]”, however, it is the “best album yet.”
“This one was the easiest [to collaborate on]. We all kind of make our own personal list [of tracks we want] and I think nine out of the fourteen tracks we were all on the same page.”
And as for those rumors Justin Bieber is on the upcoming record, the boys and Biebs’ manager Scooter Braun clarifies unfortunately, “no,” he’s not singing on any tracks, but “They just did some writing together.”
Download “We Own the Night” on iTunes on August 11.
