MTV VMAs to Use Vine as Voting Method for the First Time

2013 MTV Video Music Awards: Find Out All the Nominees

Music fans can now use Vine to vote for the Best Song of the Summer.

This is the first in MTV Video Music Awards history to allow fans to weigh in on a category using videos and hashtags. In previous years, MTV only counted votes that came from Instagram and Twitter.

Users can start voting now as well as during the August 25 ceremony. Competing in the Best Song of the Summer category are:

“We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus (#VoteMiley)

“Get Lucky” by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell (#VoteDaftPunk)

“I Need Your Love” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding (#VoteCalvinAndEllie)

“Come & Get It” by Selena Gomez (#VoteSelena)

“Best Song Ever” by One Direction (#VoteOneDirection)

“Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell (#VoteThicke)
