Kelly Clarkson Admits She’s ‘Over’ Her Wedding: ‘It’s So Overwhelming’
Kelly Clarkson, who has been busy touring with Maroon 5 on what she calls the “Off the Market” tour since she and Adam Levine are both engaged, phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat about her upcoming wedding and being a mom now!
Kelly admits not much has changed for her since getting engaged when it comes to her pop-star life. When fiancé Brandon Blackstock joins her on the road, “he will get worried … he’s like, ‘Are you doing what you’d normally do? I don’t want to be that guy that comes out here [and keeps you].’ And I’m like, ‘I normally don’t do much. I’m not like some party rock star!'”
As for how Kelly’s wedding planning is going, the singer is counting down the days. “It’s two months away. It’s end of October. I’m so over it. It’s so overwhelming. We’re just doing a lot: touring and the wedding and the Christmas album, so I’m over the wedding part.”

However, one part of getting married that Kelly is enjoying is becoming a step-mom!
“I have a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old now … after being single for six years! We all live together and everything … it’s so different, but it’s perfect. They’re awesome and I actually really dig the mom thing … I am quick to go, ‘I told you not to touch that!’… I am totally my mom. My mom was a hard mom.”
And she’s using her newfound role as a mom for a good cause.
The 31-year-old is teaming up with State Farm to educate teens on safe driving. “It’s cool to be a part of kids [driving],” says Kelly. “I loved getting my drivers license because it was … like freedom … I can tell you my first two CDs I put in my car…was Boyz II Men…and then [Alanis Morissette's] Little Jagged Pill.”

How is Kelly’s safe-driving campaign different? “You see the commercials where they scare the crap out of you,” she explains. “So it’s cool because they’re doing a fun spin on it and we’re doing a lot of stuff with the high school … and they’ll win concerts.”
