iHeartRadio Music Festival: 5 Reasons Why We ‘Heart’ Miley Cyrus
The biggest music event in radio history is just around the corner and one of the all-star performers to hit the stage is Miley Cyrus!
The “We Can’t Stop” singer will be joining the star-studded lineup at the iHeartRadio Music Festival along with Katy Perry, Drake, Justin Timberlake, and so many more in Las Vegas on September 20 and 21.
The Disney alum has been known to push the envelope with her catchy songs and over-the-top performances — like her recent performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards — that leave the crowd with a memorable (for lack of a better word) experience.
So here are 5 reasons why we “heart” Miley Cyrus:
1. She Has the Best of Both Worlds
Dang flabbit! How could anyone forget Miley’s Disney Channel television series, Hannah Montana? The Disney alum played a normal teenager by day and pop star by night along with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus!
2. She’s the Queen of Twerk!
If you look up “twerk” in the dictionary (yes, it is officially there now) you might see Miley’s picture next to it. She’s made the controversial dance move a household name thanks to busting it out in her “We Can’t Stop” video and of course at the VMAs.
3. She Knows How to Write a Catchy Anthem
If there’s one thing Miley is known for (besides twerking) it’s her ability to write a catchy tune! Every American knows the words to her hit song, “Party in the USA” just as well as they know the “Star Spangled Banner.”
4. She’s a Versatile Singer
Not everyone call pull off a Dolly Parton song, but that doesn’t stop the “We Can’t Stop” songstress. In this video, Miley shows off her amazing, versatile pipes by covering the hit country track, “Jolene” in one of her “Backyard Sessions.”
5. She Has a Knack for Making History
Despite all the mixed criticisms that the “Wrecking Ball” singer is getting for her VMAs performance, Miley knows how to keep us talking! In fact, the starlet broke the record for number of tweets per minute, beating Beyonce‘s 2013 Super Bowl performance AND the blackout that followed. If that’s not enough, her music video for “We Can’t Stop” set the record for most views in 24 hours with over 177 million views … and counting!
