We know that indie-pop group fun. will be commanding the stage during their performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival! Their unique and catchy music will be so easy to sing along to, and their high-energy performances are always a treat to watch.

When they burst onto the music scene just a few short years ago, we knew fun. would become an international sensation. We can’t wait to see their show at the iHeartRadio musical festival because they know how to get the crowd moving! Check out these 5 reasons we heart fun.

5. Jack’s Girlfriend is Lena Dunham

We know their music is great, but did you know their girlfriends are great, too? Jack Antonoff, the guitarist of fun., has been dating actress and filmmaker Lena Dunham since 2012. Lena’s best known for her gritty acting and screenwriting skills for the HBO show Girls. The fact that they’re dating makes us love them both even more!

4. fun.’s lead singer was also in The Format

Remember The Format, the indie-rock band that got you through your angsty teenage years? The bands demise in 2008 was possibly the worst day of your life, but now the lead singer, Nate Reuss, is back and fronting fun.! Some of The Format’s best qualities are present in fun.’s music, giving fans of The Format a sense of nostalgia when listening to the groups drum-heavy music.

3. They support equal rights

In addition to making incredible music, fun. are very vocal about their support of equal rights for everyone. Jack has openly discussed his desire to start a non-profit marriage equality organization and intends to use the band’s success as a platform to spread their message of equality and love. We love that they recognize the power they have in their fame and want to use it towards a good cause!

2. They’re inspired by another iHeartRadio Performer … Queen!

If it wasn’t obvious simply by listening to their music, fun. is heavily influenced by the music of Queen. The theatrical quality and storytelling nature of their songs reveal obvious inspiration from the legendary rock group. We bet fun. will freak out during Queen’s performance at the festival!

1. They are Grammy winners!

At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, fun. walked away with two trophies. “We Are Young” snagged the “Best Song of the Year” title, while the band took home the “Best New Artist” category. The group’s music breaks away from mainstream radio playlists and gives listeners something unique to sing along to. Their two Grammy wins are so well-deserved!

Don’t miss fun. at this years iHeartRadio Festival! If you weren’t able to snag tickets (it’s already sold-out), the performances will be broadcast live across Clear Channel radio stations in 150 markets nationwide and will also air as a two-night special on the CW on September 30 and October 1 at 8 p.m. Check it out!
