iHeartRadio Music Festival: 5 Reasons Why We ‘Heart’ The Wanted
The 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival kicks off this Friday in Las Vegas! Do you have your party gear packed and ready to go?
Of course, the star-studded lineup wouldn’t be complete without the dance-pop boy band, The Wanted!
It was a British invasion when the boys flew across the pond to grace us with their catchy, Euro-dance music, so here are 5 reasons why we “heart” The Wanted:
1. They Have Their Own TV Show
The boys invited us into their world to show us what it’s really like to be international pop stars on E!’s The Wanted Life. We have the debonair ladies man Max George, Jay “Party Animal” McGuiness, alpha male Tom Parker, the baby of the band Nathan Sykes, and the hopeless romantic Siva Kaneswaran. Basically, they’re just like us … except … famous!
2. They Have Performed for the Obamas!
Exactly how many famous musicians can say they’ve performed for the president? Not many … but the “Glad You Came” crooners can add that to their lengthy resumes! The U.K. band had a chance to perform in front of the first family and meet Michelle Obama! Check out their hilarious reaction when manager Scooter Braun surprised them with the good news!
3. They’re the Best Breakout Artist
The people have spoken: The Wanted won Best Breakout Artist at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, which is enough proof that they won us over! Check out their humble speech as they accept the coveted award and their hilarious rendition of “Afternoon Delight” by Starland Vocal Band.
4. They Work Hard, They Play Harder!
When the “All Time Low” singers aren’t performing at sold-out concerts or making music, they really know how to party! Check out this clip from The Wanted Life as the boys enter their mansion and take celebratory shots in honor of their L.A. pad. Don’t they look like a bunch of fun guys to kick it with?
5. The Wanted Like to Give Back
If their unique personalities haven’t won you over, wait until you hear about the charities they support! The “Chasing the Sun” singers use their celebrity to help organizations Help for Heroes and Nordoff Robins. Their music video for “Gold Fever” was the official single for Comic Relief‘s Red Nose Day, which raises awareness and funds for those in need.
