2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival: All the Friday Night Action

The first night of the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival kicked off on Friday!

We were here at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas for all the excitement and have everything that went down on the stage (as well as backstage) on RyanSeacrest.com, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr.

All the action was streaming live HERE and so will Saturday night’s show, beginning at 7 p.m. PT.

Diddy launched the show with a little dance before he introduced Robin Thicke a la a boxing announcer. (Hey, we are in Vegas, aren’t we?)

Robin heated things up during his performance of “Blurred Lines” by popping a button off his shirt just moments after he walked into the MGM Arena. Luckily for us, he just kept on going while giving his belly button a breather.

Robin was followed by fun. and Keith Urban before Muse took the stage — and seriously rocked it … pyro and all!

How cool is singer Matt Bellamy? Who else could do this?

And who else could wear these?

After Tiesto got the crowd pumped up for the second half of the show, J. Cole came out with some special guests.

Following his duet with Miguel, he then brought out one of his favorite groups, TLC, on his latest single, “Crooked Smile.”

Then Elton John came on to remind everyone why he’s such a legend. Not only does he have classic songs, but his style is also a force to reckoned with!

After Elton, Benny Benassi kept the crowd going with his beats … and this pretty sweet airplane move:

Another performer who had some smooth moves was Chris Brown.

And the queen of the night, Katy Perry! She treated fans to some of her biggest hits, including “California Gurls,” “Firework,” and “Teenage Dream,” in addition to new Prism songs, “Roar” and “Dark Horse” with Juicy J.

The final performance of the night was Queen with Adam Lambert on lead vocals, which kicked off their epic medley with “Bohemian Rhapsody” before going into “Another One Bites the Dust.”

Adam got a little break when fun. was brought onstage for “Somebody to Love.”

And the award for strangest performance of the night came courtesy of Ylvis, who surprised the crowd with their viral song, “The Fox” … dressed as, well, foxes.
