Twin Sisters Give Miley’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ Harmonic Pop Treatment

Singer-songwriters Helena and Maria Mehalis are taking the music scene by storm.

After wowing fans with their covers of songs like Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” featuring Aloe Blacc and Jay Z’s “Holy Grail” featuring Justin Timberlake (their videos have more than 27 million views on YouTube), the identical twins are now lending their incredible voices to Miley Cyrus‘ “Wrecking Ball.”

Born and raised in New Jersey, Helena and Maria started taking piano lessons at the age of 4. The sisters were home-schooled until seventh grade and started taking guitar lessons in high school — which is what inspired them to start writing their own songs.

Helena and Maria, who now live in Los Angeles where they also act and model, recorded their first album, Serene, in 2006, which consisted of all original material, like “Burn For Me” and “Live My Life For Me,” which can be found on iTunes.

The two have performed their acoustic version of “Love the Way You Lie” by Eminem feat. Rihanna live on On Air With Ryan Seacrest and their cover of Taylor Swift‘s “Love Story” even made it to No. 30 on the UK iTunes Pop Chart.
