Taylor Swift to Star in ‘The Giver’ Film With Meryl Streep

Taylor Swift is about to hit the big screen!

The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer may be joining the cast of The Giver, a film based on Lois Lowry‘s 1993 novel.

The New York Post’s Page Six, reports that Taylor will co-star with Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and rising, Australian actor, Brenton Thwaites.

Alexander Skarsgard is also in talks to hop on the project, which is set to start filming later this year in South Africa.

Taylor was supposedly offered the role by Harvey Weinstein at the Toronto International Film Festival, who introduced her to Brenton. At an after party for the film One Chance, that Taylor wrote a song for, the Australian cutie and the “You Belong With Me” singer were seen chatting until the festival bash ended.

The Giver tells the story of a young boy named Jonas, who discovers the real world outside his Utopian community… a place of no pain, suffering, or choices.

It looks like Taylor’s role could be a lot different from her previous spot in Valentine’s Day alongside Taylor Launter, but we can’t wait to see her in theaters!
