Tina Fey Hosting ‘SNL’ Season Premiere: Her 7 Best Moments
Tina Fey is returning to her old stomping grounds!
This Saturday, September 28, she will host the first episode of Saturday Night Live‘s 39th season premiere.
The 30 Rock star seems excited to be back and may or may not be making room for the show’s newcomers on Saturday.
“I’m always happy to play straight person, so, hopefully, the cast will get to do more than when they have other kinds of hosts,” she told ABC News. “You might get to see those new guys more. Although I’m not promising their parents anything.”
Since 1997, Tina has become a beloved writer and comedian for the late-night variety show. After leaving the show in 2006, she went on to continue spreading her comical talents in other projects, such as, writing the script for and acting in Mean Girls.
To celebrate her success and inspiration, here are some of Tina’s most witty moments on SNL!
Starring some of SNL’s greatest leading ladies, including Tina, this faux commercial highlights one of the most dreaded fashion don’ts any mom could wear. Alongside Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler, Tina struts her stuff in bulky, high-waisted denim!
2008 turned into a really hilarious year for Tina! Taking inspiration from the current presidential campaign with President Barack Obama and Senator John McCain, the SNL veteran returned to the show to impersonate Sarah Palin. With thunderous audiences, Tina made Sarah a regular, crazy character on the show.
What would we have done without Tina’s informative Weekend Updates? Paired with other former SNL stars, Jimmy Fallon and Amy, she made us forget about watching real news channel broadcasts.
Giving an SNL goodbye to Jimmy was hard, but Tina made it all worthwhile in this sketch from his last show. Hilarious!
Here’s a clip from Tina’s sketch with heartthrob, Justin Bieber. Talk about a teacher’s pet!
