Justin Timberlake Knew ‘Runner, Runner’ Would Be a Hit

Justin Timberlake’s new movie Runner, Runner debuts tonight and has already generated rave reviews from critics.

But according to the 20/20 Experience singer, he knew the flick would be a hit from the minute he started flipping through the script.

Justin, who plays a Princeton student named Richie that gets caught up in an online gambling scheme opposite Ben Affleck, tells On Air with Ryan Seacrest: “You know the characters were really intelligent and the movie could go either direction when I was reading it.”

Adding: “It wasn’t clear this well this is the bad guy and this is the good guy it just felt like a nice lil twist but also an homage to the thrillers that I loved [growing up].”
