Irish singer Sinead O’Connor made headlines on Wednesday after posting an open letter to Miley Cyrus on her website, calling for the young pop star to stop “allowing yourself to be pimped,” and saying that “the music business doesn’t give a sh-t about you.”

O’Connor penned the letter after Miley revealed in her latest Rolling Stone interview, that the highly publicized “Wrecking Ball” music video was inspired in part by O’Connor’s classic “Nothing Compares 2 U” video.

The letter wasn’t all negative as O’Connor offered some encouraging words and kept her focus on female empowerment, even telling Miley that her Hannah Montana image is long gone “not because you got naked but because you make great records.”

However, Miley obviously didn’t take too kindly to being called out and went on Twitter to clap back at the 46-year-old.

Miley calls O’Connor’s mental health into question, throwing shade at the Irish singer as well as Amanda Bynes, who recently was hospitalized for mental health issues.

O’Connor wasted no time responding to the 20-year-old singer in two subsequent open letters on her Facebook threatening to take legal action and actually confirming that the tweets Miley posted did in fact come from her account two years ago “when I was ill and seeking medical help.”

Miley responded on Twitter and refused to back down:

O’Connor posted her third open letter early Friday morning, letting Miley know she has no desire to meet her and questioning her choice to mock mental health issues:

You have no business abusing Amanda Bynes or anyone else. How do you think you made her feel yesterday? How do you feel when your friend Britney Spears is mocked and humiliated for having had mental health problems?

In the latest letter, O’Connor again threatens legal action unless Miley removes the tweets and issues a public apology.
