‘Glee’s’ Emotional Tribute to Cory Monteith: Videos

Thursday night’s episode of Glee was one that fans were both anticipating and dreading. The beautiful goodbye to Cory Monteith and his beloved character, Finn Hudson, probably called for more than one box of tissues.

According to Entertainment Weekly“The Quarterback” was watched by 7.4 million viewers and was the show’s highest-rated episode in about a year.

In the episode, the Glee gang returns to school to help Will (Matthew Morrison) put together a memorial for their dear friend and they all struggle through the difficult time.

Not only did Puck (Mark Salling) angrily rip out a tree planted in honor of his buddy, he also butted heads with Kurt (Chris Colfer) when he saw him wearing the late quarterback’s letterman jacket.

Santana (Naya Rivera) and Sue (Jane Lynch) meanwhile had a physical altercation after Sue took memorial pictures off of Finn’s locker, which upset Santana. But by the end of the special episode, the two came to an understanding after Sue broke down and cried about how upset she was over losing Finn.

When Rachel (Lea Michele) finally arrived, she paid her respect to Finn with a short monologue and Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love.” The entire cast then came to together to perform “Seasons of Love,” while Puck gave a piercing cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “No Surrender.”
