Adam Lambert Makes ‘Glee’ Debut on Katy Perry-Lady Gaga Episode

Are you a Katy or a Gaga?

That was the question that the cast of Glee answered on Thursday’s episode as they covered two of Hollywood’s biggest divas, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, in spectacular performances.

Several weeks after honoring Finn (Cory Monteith) the New Directions were faced with the approach of Nationals. To prepare, Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) challenged the singers to take on the personalities of Gaga or Katy, but he switched it up: Anyone who thought they resembled the “Dope” singer had to step into Katy’s shoes and vice versa.

The Katys — Blaine, Sam, Artie, and Ryder — gave an outrageous performance of Gaga’s “Applause” with elaborate costumes and over-the-top stage presence.

On the other hand, the Gagas — Jake, Kitty, Unique, and Tina — represented Katy without costumes and theatrics in a stripped-down, harmonious performance of her ballad, “Wide Awake.”

Meanwhile in New York, guest star Adam Lambert, who plays Elliot Starchild, auditioned for Kurt, Santana, and Dani’s (Demi Lovato) new band by singing Gaga’s “Marry the Night.” He really channeled his inner Mother Monster by swinging from a chandelier, wearing a studded top hat and suit, and rocking killer vocals.

At first Kurt’s jealousy makes him skeptical about letting Elliot join the band, but Rachel eventually convinced him to give the glamorous performer a chance.

The episode ended with a bang as the New Directions give a “roaring” performance of Katy’s Prism track “Roar” in jungle-themed attire.

Who do you think gave the best performance? The Katys, the Gagas, or Adam?
