Woman Leads Beyonce Dance Party Before Surgery: Watch

One woman did not let major surgery overshadow her outlook on life.

In a new video that has quickly gone viral, cancer patient Deborah Cohan leads the team of doctors and nurses who are set to perform a double mastectomy on her at San Francisco’s Mt. Zion hospital in a dance-off to Beyonce‘s “Got Me Bodied.”

In a November 1 post on CaringBridge.org, the mom of two tried to inspire others to take part in the dance party with her on November 5 at 7:30 a.m. PT. and send her photos and videos of their moves, so she could enjoy it while recovering.

“I have visions of a healing video montage,” wrote Deborah. “Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?”

Not only was Deborah’s surgery a success — according to her Caring Bridge page, “She’s in good spirits. Already did some walking.” — her video made its way to Beyonce herself, who wrote, “Deborah, you are awesome!” on Facebook.
