Chris Daughtry: New Album Inspired by ‘People in My Life’

Chris Daughtry‘s band Daughtry has released their fourth studio album, Baptized, and it’s a whole new sound for the group.

The American Idol alum reveals to On Air with Ryan Seacrest the album marks a departure from what the band has done in the past, but is still honest to who they are.

With tracks like “Waiting for Superman” and “Long Live Rock & Roll,” Chris goes on to say there is a common thread of nostalgia and when it comes to who influenced their sound, he has everyone in his life to thank.

“A lot of the songs are inspired from people in my life, whether it be my kids or my wife or friends. There’s a lot of muses in my life that influenced a lot of lyrical content on this record.”

“Waiting for Superman” is the first single off the hit album. The Martin Johnson produced track was written by Chris himself along with Martin and Sam Hollander while on tour. Chris describes the track as: “A perfect example of the overall theme to the new album.”
