Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera Duet for ‘Do What U Want’ on ‘The Voice’
Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera squashed their rumored feud when the two pop superstars shared the stage on the finale of The Voice to deliver a powerful duet of Gaga’s R. Kelly-assisted single, “Do What U Want,” on Tuesday night.
The blonde divas donned matching ’70s-esque metallic ensembles, cuddled onstage, took turns showing off their (arguably similar) vocal range, and the ladies wrapped up their performance with a champagne toast.
After the performance, Voice host Carson Daly asked the singers about their collaboration.
“I was really excited because The Voice called and said they wanted me to perform on the finale, and I obviously can’t refuse,” Gaga said. “Such an amazing show! And I said I want to know if Christina wants to do it with me!”
“This is the first time we’ve ever met,” Christina added. “When I heard she wanted to collaborate, I said, ‘Of course!’ She’s such an innovative artist and a risk taker. And as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that. And I just have to say guys, she’s the most down-to-earth real person I’ve met. So I love you girl, and you deserve everything you’ve earned.”
The feud began in 2008 when the “Your Body” singer supposedly threw shade at Mother Monster during her rise to fame, but by the looks of last night’s performance, the two seem to have made amends.
