Simon Cowell Confirms Demi Lovato Not Returning to ‘X Factor’

Demi Lovato is giving her X Factor fans a heart attack!

After reports that the “Neon Lights” singer will not be returning to the singing competition for a third season, Simon Cowell told reporters on Wednesday that it’s true she won’t be back.

“I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that,” Simon said, according to E! Online.

Demi’s Neon Lights tour kicks off on February 9 in Vancouver, and she’ll be bringing former X Factor alums Fifth Harmony and Little Mix as her opening acts.

In September, she told On Air with Ryan Seacrest she was looking forward to the tour. “I think it’s going to be so much fun,” Demi said at the time. “There’s nothing better than woman empowerment and having an all-girls tour … What’s ironic is we are all from The X Factor, and that wasn’t even planned. It just kind of happened that way … I helped put Fifth Harmony together … and now they’re going to be opening for me. It’s so awesome.”

Although she won’t be back on X Factor, Demi is clearly still tight with fellow judge Kelly Rowland, which she documented during the show on Wednesday night:
