TMZ’s Harvey Levin Gives Details on Why Ke$ha Entered Rehab

TMZ’s Harvey Levin phoned into On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Monday morning to reveal more details about Ke$ha‘s decision to check herself into rehab.

The “Timber” singer announced last week she was seeking treatment for an eating disorder. “I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice,” Harvey says Ke$ha told TMZ in a statement. “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder…to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”

Harvey goes on to explain that she’s seeking treatment at Timberline Knolls, the same facility where Demi Lovato once stayed.

Although the news came as a surprise to most fans, Harvey says the singer had been visibly losing weight over the past year.

“When you look at what is going on, she definitely lost a lot of weight between 2012 and 2013 and you see it … but obviously it came at a cost … we’ve seen pictures that have been pretty dramatic and it looks like whatever it was got worse over the last six months.”

Harvey goes on to describe her evolving look as not one her fans have loved. “It’s not the person they really loved in terms of the image. She has this weird fake glam and she even looks uncomfortable … it doesn’t seem like her.”

The singer is clearly set to get back on track though as she tweeted prior to making the announcement on New Year’s Eve: “Cheers to this year being the best year ever. 2014 gon be the year of truth and freedom.”

We hope Ke$ha has a speedy recovery!
