Jay Z Invites 12-Year-old Onstage to Rap ‘Clique’: Watch

Jay Z was in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday for a stop on his Magna Carta World Tour when he invited a lucky 12-year-old onstage to rap his verse in Kanye West‘s track, “Clique.”

The youngster named Justin, who had been holding a sign that read, “Can I rap for you,” was hesitant at first when he shared the stage with Mr. Carter, but nerves aside, he ripped the Hit-Boy-produced single and the crowd went wild.

When the superfan was about to delve into the controversial lyric about drug dealing, Jay’s paternal side kicked in, as the “Tom Ford” rapper advised, “Just skip the drug dealing part and go back to the numbers.”

After the performance, the boy asked Jay, “Can I meet you backstage?”

“Yes, yes you can. Just because of the nerve,” replied the 44-year-old, whose megastar wife Beyonce is also known for her interactive concerts.
