Sofia Vergara Talks Tabloid Rumors, Why She Posts Sexy Photos Online

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat about her latest gig as executive producer for new ABC series Killer Women, based off the original Latin American series, Mujeres Asesinas.

The crime drama follows the life of Molly Parker, a recently-divorced former beauty queen and daughter of a sheriff, who rises to the top ranks of one of the most elite and male-dominant law enforcement establishments, the Texas Rangers.

Why did Sofia decide to take on the project? “It’s [an adaptation of] a show that called a lot of attention in Latin America, Mexico and Argentina called Mujeres Asesinas, so I thought it would be a great idea to bring it to the United States,” she explains. “It’s kind of like the same premise: women that commit horrible crimes and I thought it was very interesting.”

The brunette beauty goes on to joke about what she found interesting. “Because women usually don’t kill as much as men, but when they do, they don’t stab you one time like men do, they stab you 50 times … so we can be very vicious and I thought it was something very different to bring to television.”

When asked why female murderers are so vicious and would stab 49 times more than men, the actress joked, “Because everything we do, we want to do it right!”

And aside from being an executive producer now, Sofia is also gearing up for a wedding to Nick Loeb, with whom she just spent the holidays in Mexico.

And it’s a relationship the press loves to speculate over, Sofia admits. “I laugh all the time because what else can I do? I mean at least they’re talking about me, no? … I read the most absurd things, like one day I’m engaged, one day because I go to the gym without the ring then I’m not engaged and it’s some horrible tragedy. Then the other day I’m getting married, then I’m giving birth.”

One thing that’s for sure is how in-shape Sofia is and she’s not afraid to show it off! In fact, she even revealed her toned derriere in a recent Instagram pic.

“My son took that picture and I’m like, ‘Damn, I still look good! I’m going to post this one,” she laughs. “At this age, you don’t take for granted a good picture.”
