Nick Jonas Joins Demi Lovato’s Tour as Musical and Creative Director
In an interview that was published by Rolling Stone on Tuesday, the former Jonas Brothers singer told the magazine about his new behind-the-scenes role — a project he accepted around the time the boy bander decided to call it quits.
“I’m overseeing video content, wardrobe, lighting and staging,” he told Rolling Stone about his involvement on the upcoming concert, which will feature songs from all four of Demi’s studio albums. “And then I’m extending into the musical side of things, which includes creating the arrangements for the songs. I’m building what Demi wanted, which is a show without stops and starts.”
After dropping the details on his new gig, the songstress shared her excitement on Twitter, praising, “So excited to have @nickjonas helping me out as Creative AND Musical Director on the #NEONLIGHTSTOUR!!!!”
As for his own solo musical career, the 21-year-old, told the mag he has a few pieces that are “done and ready to be released.”
“I’ve got a lot of things in the pipeline right now and I’m waiting to release some news about my music and my next steps,” he revealed. “It isn’t quite locked in yet, but I have started making some music and now it’s all about lining up the pieces.”
The “Who I Am” singer even dished to Rolling Stone about the future of the Jonas Brothers, hinting that there will be no reunion in the near future.
“At this moment we’re all focusing on ourselves and the things we want to accomplish,” he explained. “That’s especially true with Kevin, whose wife just gave birth. That’s a major life change for him and a priority. Joe and I are really excited for him as well as the music we’re making. I can’t say that I know when [we might reunite] because there’s lots of excitement about what we’re making as individuals.”
The “Heart Attack” singer, who said, “this show represents exactly what kind of artist I am” on Twitter, will kick off the first leg of the tour with Nick on Sunday, February 9, in Vancouver. For tickets and information, click here!
