Vinyl Pinups are keeping fans warm with the summer-themed music video for their feel-good single, “Gold Rays,” and RyanSeacrest.com has the exclusive premiere.

The Michael Deppisch-directed visual finds the indie-pop singers — Brennan Aerts and Khara Lord — cruising along the beach boardwalk in old-fashioned roller skates and eating soft-serve ice cream. In the final scene, the longtime college friends end the clip by crashing a motel and taking a dip in a swimming pool.

Laced with soft synths, nonchalant melodies of whistles, and guitar strums, the track is redolent of the trip-hop era with the inclusion of lyrics like: “You put the smile on my face like the sunshine / I won’t cry, cry, cry / cause you’re mine all mine.”

“We love the vibe that California brings,” the Los Angeles-based duo tells RyanSeacrest.com. “It was the summertime last year, and we were just vibing out on the rooftop and we thought, ‘Let’s just write a really simple song that’s an homage to all things that make you feel good.'”

“Gold Rays” — the lead single off their forthcoming TWO EP, which currently has no official release date — is available on iTunes now.
