Jimmy Fallon and The Muppets Perform ‘The Weight’ in Final Episode
On Friday, the talk show host brought in the highest ratings for the Late Night franchise with a whopping 6.6 million viewers who were tuned in for his final goodbyes after 969 episodes. But before moving on to The Tonight Show, Jimmy took a moment to express the amount of gratitude he had for his fans and their continuous support.
“I want to thank the fans. I can’t believe it. This didn’t exist five years ago. There was no such thing as this show five years ago. Isn’t that crazy to even believe that? It means the world to me. You make me so happy. Thank you so much.”
As the final broadcast came to an end, Jimmy invited The Muppets onstage to perform with him a memorable version of The Band‘s 1968 classic, “The Weight.” The talk show host was the drummer and the backup singer for Miss Piggy, Kermit, and the rest of the gang.
At the end of the performance, Jimmy walks out of the studio and down the hall … to the set of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
Tune in on February 17 as Jimmy will kick off a new era as the new host of The Tonight Show!
