Russian Police Cover ‘Get Lucky’ During Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Daft Punk and Pharrell may have won a 2014 Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit single, “Get Lucky,” but the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs won the world with their entertaining (for lack of a better word) rendition on Friday.

During the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Sochi, a choir of Russian police officers performed a delightful cover of the funky electronic track, which was filled with infectious hip sways, passionate hand movements, and deep-voiced harmonies.

This headlining act served as an encore performance to their viral disco-inspired music video for “Get Lucky,” which the police officers first debuted in November 2013 (watch below).

What are your thoughts on the performance? Was it a success or an awkward misfire?
