Kaepernick ‘Excited’ to Co-Host Hall of Game Awards With Cam Newton

Quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton are joining forces to co-host the fourth annual Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards.

The San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panther players come together just a month after their two teams squared off at the 2014 NFL playoffs, where the 49ers took the win, causing us to think there will likely be a rivalry joke or two.

But the duo aren’t nervous to take the stage together … in fact, they just want to have fun!

“I am very excited to host the show with Cam because we have a lot of similarities and we are good friends,” Colin tells On Air with Ryan Seacrest. “I don’t think either of us gets very nervous. We just go out and try to have a good time and make sure we are doing the right things, but having a good time and trying to make it fun for the kids and the audience at the same time.”

Aside from the banter between the two hosts, the award show — which honors kids and sports — will also feature performances by Fall Out Boy, Jason Derulo, as well as The Harlem Globetrotters and extreme pogo group Xpogo.

Catch the fourth annual Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards tonight, February 17, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
