Justin Bieber Responds to Media Drama With New Song ‘Broken’
Justin Bieber has been mostly mum about the headlines he’s made all year, but now he’s firing back with a public response that comes in the form of his newly-released track, “Broken,” letting fans — and the world — know about his relentless mindset.
The 19-year-old took to Instagram on Friday night and shared an album artwork of DJ Tay James, captioned, “Checkout some new exclusive music on livemixtapes.com comes out in 1 minute.”
Produced with samples of turntable scratches, the song — a cut off Tay James’ mixtape We Know the DJ Playlist 4 — serves as a public response to his tabloid circus in January with lyrics like: “I guess they just want a reaction / But I ain’t going to give it to them.”
“I cannot be broken,” he continues. “They can’t take what’s mine / someone like me is hard to find / I cannot be broken / like I know you were hoping.”
Featuring Blake Kelly, the rapper spits his pro-Bieber verse: “How you gon’ play me / how you gon’ break me / I’ve been in this industry since I was a baby / all of my life / it’s driving them crazy.”
The pop star, who tweeted, “Keeping it positive always,” following the release of the anti-media drama track, has also Instagrammed teasers of a prospective collaboration with rapper T.I., and a new song he finished with Khalil.
