Fifty years ago, The Beatles made their debut on The Ed Sullivan Show … and history was forever changed.

But although that was long before the digital age, in new never-before-seen footage obtained by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Fab 4 were surprisingly ahead of their time.

After finishing their song, John Lennon (Fallon) tells the screaming fans, “We’re The Beatles! You guys have been a great crowd. Don’t forget to like us on Facebook.”

The Brit then explains to the crowd that the band is also on Twitter, Vine, and Instagram, where they post #ThrowbackThursday photos and shots of Ringo Starr‘s (played by Fred Armisen) brunch.

Before they leave the stage, they pause to snap a #SelfieSunday.
