Lea Michele Poses For ‘V,’ Talks About Cory Monteith Tribute
In the interview, the starlet opened up about “If You Say So,” her musical tribute to her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith, and finding her own sound for Louder.
“It’s the only song that no one’s heard. I can’t talk about it until people hear it,” Lea dishes to V Mag. “I just feel like people should hear it and I don’t know if I’m ever going to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where I understand what it means and you can take it or leave it. That song is for me.”
The “Cannonball” singer also reveals how working with acclaimed songwriters helped her find her sound.
“I started working with Anne Preven, Felicia Barton, and Bonnie McKee right out of the gate, and we came up with some great, awesome pop songs. But closer to the beginning of this year – four or give months into making the album – the label was like, ‘this is great, but we need more of you in here. You sound like you’re singing awesome songs that are similar to Katy or Kelly. We need more Lea Michele.’”
Aside from her debut album, Lea Michele also has her special two-part Glee 100th episode — airing March 17 and 25 — and a book, Brunette Ambition, which is slated to hit shelves May 13.
Louder is available for pre-sale and can be streamed on iTunes, here.
