Bruce Springsteen Covers Lorde’s ‘Royals’ in New Zealand

“You can call me king bee…” Bruce Springsteen sang as he covered Lorde’s “Royals.”

The Boss kicked off his show in Auckland, New Zealand on Friday with the acoustic rendition of the hit song, made famous by the country’s brand new musical export.

In his solo, Bruce played guitar and harmonica, as well as altered a few lyrics to make the 17-year-old’s song his own.

During the recent Australian leg of his tour, Bruce covered Australian artists such as, AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell,” INXS’s “Don’t Change,” the Easybeats’ “Friday On My Mind” and the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive.” Therefore, now that he is in New Zealand, its only fitting that the singer/ songwriter covers New Zealand local, Lorde.

What do you think of Springsteen’s cover?
