John Travolta on Idina Menzel Oscars Flub: ‘Let It Go!’


The most talked-about man at the Oscars — not  Matthew McConaughey or that pizza delivery guy — John Travolta, has finally spoken out on Sunday’s big slip-up.

While introducing Idina Menzel’s performance for her nominated song, “Let It Go,” from Disney’s Frozen, the 60-year-old mistakenly pronounced the Tony award winner’s name as “Adele Dazeem.”

“I’ve been beating myself up all day.” John said in a statement to CNN. “Then I thought … what would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”

John has received much taunting for his mistake, and a name generator was even created that will “Travoltify” one’s name.

And on Tuesday’s Chelsea Lately, Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe decided to join in on the fun by mocking Travolta. Check out the hilarious video below:
