Go Behind the Scenes at the Oscars With Ellen DeGeneres

Ever wonder what it takes to host the Oscars?

Ellen Degeneres gave fans a sneak peek at the week leading up to the big show by having her camera crew follow her around as she prepared for her hosting gig.

Beginning 172 days prior to the Oscars, the talk show host announces to her audience that she agreed to host the 86th Academy Awards, and from there it is a whirlwind of production and rehearsals.

In one production meeting Ellen is going over her script and talking about her now, record-breaking selfie saying, “I really hope everyone jumps in this picture. I keep thinking … that would be amazing if everyone really gets in.”

The footage also leads up into the night of the Oscars as Ellen is running around backstage. At one point she bumped into Jennifer Lawrence, who was hurrying to her seat before the show started, but stopped to joke with Ellen saying, “I need to go sit down, you should probably go get onstage.”

There were also endearing and hilarious moments with Will Smith joking about taking over Ellen’s hosting duties and Channing Tatum, who was looking over his lines backstage before he went out to present.
