Adam Lambert ‘Thrilled’ to Be Touring With Queen This Summer
The American Idol alum announced on Thursday that he’s hitting the road with iconic Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor for a 19-date North American tour this summer, which kicks off at the United Center in Chicago on June 19. It will also mark the first time the trio performs together in locations like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Dallas, and more.
The “If I Had You” singer reveals he’s “thrilled” to be touring with Queen and admits he’s at a more mature place when it comes to hitting the stage with the legends.
“I was talking to the Queen guys about this today … when I first met them and the first couple times we took the stage together, it was good, it felt good, but just last year at the iHeartRadio Festival it just felt more grounded and evolved and we talked about a lot of reasons, but I feel more grounded.”
And the age gap between the 32-year-old and the rockers isn’t getting in the way of their collaborative force.
“That’s what’s cool about it is,” Adam says. “It doesn’t feel like a huge age gap. They have all these amazing stories and tons of experiences and I try to act like as a sponge around them and listen and learn.”
“We have a lot of fun together [on stage],” he adds, “and there are a lot of impromptu moments, that’s my favorite.”
